Meeting with Michelle Snead
Michelle Snead Portrait Artist of Raleigh, North Carolina
In exploring whether to commission a painting, the first step is meeting with Michelle to determine preferences and to answer questions. Michelle wants all clients to feel totally comfortable with her and to be convinced that she will paint the highest quality portrait possible.
The location of this meeting may be at the potential client’s home; however, most clients prefer coming to Michelle’s studio so that they can see finished oil and pastel portraits as well as portraits in progress. Together, they go through an extensive portfolio.
They discuss clothing choices, location for the photographs, time schedules, sizes and what the client wishes to convey in the painting. If the client is not local, the same conversations occur over the telephone.
Once the decision is made to commission the painting, Michelle sends a written contract in the mail. A copy of the contract as well as a 30% deposit is due prior to taking the reference photographs.
